Administration Team Leader - Myeloma

Grade: Band 5

The Cancer Services Division is currently looking to recruit an Administration Team Leader – Myeloma, working within the Haematology department and working closely with a number of clinicians and the wider Multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will provide a first class administrative service to patients, ensuring there is proactive co-ordination of patient pathways to support the delivery of appropriate care. The individual will be expected to provide a high quality, patient focused and responsive administrative function.

The role will also involve providing a PA service to clinical staff, involving organising meetings, taking minutes at departmental meetings and diary management.

The successful candidate must have previous experience of working at a high level of competence within an administration/PA focused role in an NHS setting, ideally with knowledge of managing of patient pathways within NHS waiting time targets. The candidate should also have some experience of line managing staff or of quality improvement.

The candidate will possess excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate complex information effectively and sensitively to patients and colleagues. They must be able to work well in a team and take instructions from several sources. The ability to input and lead on service development initiatives is essential.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
