Band 6 secondment (9  months fixed term initally) – Spasticity Team at NHNNN

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nurse to work in the Spasticity Team.  This post holder would be working in a team with the existing Nurse Specialists to develop and support the nursing input to this expanding specialised service. Using a competency framework we would work with you to develop your skills concentrating initially on general spasticity management principles and the use of intrathecal baclofen. Aiming in the first instance for you to be able to co-ordinate and help maintain the exisiting Intrathecal baclofen service.

This post presents an excellent opportunity for both career development and job satisfaction for individuals who have an interest in working with people with complex neurological disabilities. You will work within a friendly and supportive multidsiciplinary team of spasticity management, multiple sclerosis and rehabilitation specialists. We would be committed to provide training and clinical supervision to enable you to develop skills to practise autonomously in this specialist area. There may also be opportunities for ongoing education. 

Experience of working in neurosciences would be preferable although not essential, the post may be attractive to individuals with rehabilitation, pain management, oncology or theatre backgrounds.
