Many of our services operate from new or newly refurbished facilities including the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre which opened in 2012. So, why join UCLH…?

Looking for a challenge? Want to work for a Trust with an international reputation for innovation, teaching and research? Have a desire to make a difference in optimising the use of licensed and unlicensed medicines as well as the next generation of pharmaceuticals? Then look no further…

UCLH is one of the most complex NHS trusts in the UK, serving a large and diverse population from the local area and throughout the United Kingdom and overseas. The Trust mission is to deliver top-quality patient care, excellent education and world-class research across seven hospitals. As a leading centre for both clinical practice and research, the Trust is involved in the treatment of a number of specialist conditions as well hosting a high volume of clinical trials.

The Formulary & Medicines Management (FMM) team are closely involved with the Trust Hospital Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Project (HoPMOp) and the NCL Sustainability & Transformation Programme (STP).

The Pharmacy Clinical Trials Unit (PCTU) at UCLH covers activity across all UCLH sites (UCH, MacMillan Cancer Centre, Westmoreland Street, NHNN, Mortimer Market, Eastman Dental Hospital, RNTNE and the NIHR/UCLH Clinical Research Facility).

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic pharmacist, with the potential to perform at a high level, to join the Medicines Management and Research team. This is a new post following a reorganisation of workforce within the formulary and clinical trials team. Key responsibilities will include: supporting the formulary team in the review of new and existing medicines available at UCLH via the Use of Medicines Committee; being the point of contact for applications relating to non-formulary / one-off / compassionate-use requests; supporting the collection of data for high-cost drugs to demonstrate compliance with commissioned criteria; and assisting specialist pharmacists in the governance arrangements for the management of patients off-trial.
