We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and confident individual. You should have the ability to work well within teams and be able to manage your time effectively.

This Band 5 position is part of the 9 month Band 5 Rotations. The rotational posts cover the following areas:

Rotation 1:
Gastroenterology Dietetics Team - responsible for a caseload of medical and care of older people patients at University College Hospital (UCH) and Evergreen ward at the nearby St Pancras Hospital. You will work alongside other Gastroenterology Team Dietitians and will attend regular MDT’s and ward rounds. There may also be a weekly outpatient clinic for general and gastroenterology patients.

Rotation 2:
Oncology & Haematology Dietetic Team - responsible for the care of the Oncology patients with specific tumours in the inpatient and outpatient setting, working alongside the Dietetic Assistant as the Lead Dietitian for the Infectious Diseases and Respiratory Medicine ward. You will also be required to carry out a weekly telephone clinic for General Oncology & Haematology Patients who are unable to attend the hospital for Dietetic Intervention, and provide outpatient support for patients undergoing radiotherapy.

Rotations 3:
Gastroenterology Dietetics Team - responsible for a caseload on the Acute Medical Unit, Short Stay Surgery and Orthopaedics. There may also be a weekly outpatient clinic for general and gastroenterology patients.

In all three of the rotations you will work alongside other members of the team and will attend regular MDT’s and ward rounds. In the first instance our Band 5 team members at UCH provide cross cover to one another, however there is the opportunity to gain specialist inpatient and outpatient experience in each of the rotations. You will have the opportunity to be involved in delivering education sessions for the Care Certificate, patient group talks working in collaboration with Macmillan Support and Information Centre, as well as supporting student training and departmental research and audit.

We are a forward thinking department committed to clinical governance initiatives. You will be actively involved in audit and department activities.
