Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine which is an initial appointment for 6 months, with potential for extension. University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint full-time middle grades in Emergency Medicine with a commitment to high quality patient care, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, and excellence in education/training.

Applications from both established clinical fellows/middle grades and less experienced grades are welcome.

You will be working with a proactive and friendly multidisciplinary team, working closely with clinical and managerial colleagues to achieve and maintain a high quality clinical service.

This post involves a 48 hour week (BAND 1A). This will involve ten night shifts and three weekends within a ten week rota commitment (full-shift).
Clinical Fellows in this post will benefit from:
Training

The post holder will receive training consistent with the trust middle grade guidelines and College recommended training.

Annual appraisal

Educational Supervisor will be the college tutor, Dr A Sabanathan, with regular logged ES meetings

Access to fracture clinic, paediatric clinics (others can be arranged)
Admin days to engage in personal development, audit and quality improvement projects

Provide access and funding to APLS, ALS and ATLS that are run locally
Supervise USS training

Weekly 2 hours of protected teaching time, ED Consultant supervised, external consultant teaching and opportunity to present

All training is aimed to develop more senior emergency physicians. With the additional support in further post-graduate training and possible FCEM sitting (article 14)
