At UCLH (University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) our success starts with you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.

Based in the busy West End of London, we have a lively and vibrant working atmosphere, with quick and easy transport links to all our sites. Our size and resources enable us to offer a range of attractive benefits as well as unparalleled education and development opportunities for staff at all levels. This includes an extensive portfolio of academic and clinical courses and programmes ranging from ongoing personal development through to clinical excellence and leadership skills. UCLH prides itself on its investment in staff both in terms of developing career skills but also its commitment to staff health and wellbeing.

There is currently a vacancy for a Practitioner Clinical Physiologist within the EEG department at the Chalfont site, UCLH, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Clinical Physiologist to join our team.

The EEG department undertake routine EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, video- EEG telemetry, and polysomnography studies, providing both a in-patient and out-patient service. The video-EEG telemetry & polysomnography studies are carried out in dedicated beds on an assessment ward, where patients are studied for diagnostic purposes to characterise seizure type or type of sleep disorder as well as performing some extracranial studies on patients being considered for epilepsy surgery.

Candidates will be qualified practitioners who have completed their basic training, and these posts provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience in more complex investigations. Specialist Practitioners and Consultant Medical Staff provide training and teaching in all investigations.

Candidates must have the BSc in Clinical Neurophysiology or equivalent, Part I IRCP and be eligible for RCCP registration. They must be competent with routine clinical neurophysiology investigations; training in the more specialised techniques will be given. The department is supportive of further formal and informal training and encourages external CPD activities.

The EEG department currently functions as a 5-day unit (alternating shifts 8:30 – 7), although it will be necessary to participate in a rota for polysomnography studies on a Saturday morning.

The Chalfont site is about 25miles out of London in Buckinghamshire.
