At UCLH (University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) our success starts with you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.

Based in the busy West End of London, we have a lively and vibrant working atmosphere, with quick and easy transport links to all our sites. Our size and resources enable us to offer a range of attractive benefits as well as unparalleled education and development opportunities for staff at all levels. This includes an extensive portfolio of academic and clinical courses and programmes ranging from ongoing personal development through to clinical excellence and leadership skills. UCLH prides itself on its investment in staff both in terms of developing career skills but also its commitment to staff health and wellbeing.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic individual to work as part of the multidisciplinary antimicrobial stewardship team to deliver the antimicrobial stewardship strategy within the trust, and achieve the requirements of the national CQUIN.

You will work within this team to help reduce development of antimicrobial resistance by promoting stewardship agenda and reducing inappropriate consumption of antimicrobials. You will support the team in developing a trust wide culture that reduces hospital acquired infection and supports prudent use of antimicrobials.

You will work closely with our Lead Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist, as well as the Microbiology and Infection Control teams, to reduce the development of resistance by promoting local and national antimicrobial stewardship priorities and policies and reducing inappropriate prescribing.

Additional responsibilities will include governance, antimicrobial consumption analysis and reporting, active participation in the Antimicrobial Stewardship and CQUIN Committees, multiprofessional education and training, service evaluation, and other strategic projects as required. This will include initiatives to minimise inappropriate antimicrobial use, meet the educational needs of patients and staff, and improve overall antimicrobial prescribing across the trust.

With a broad base of general and specific clinical experience, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will also contribute towards the clinical supervision of multi-professional undergraduate students and the mentorship of pre-registration and postgraduate diploma students. You will also provide support for the implementation of antimicrobial stewardship strategies, and participate in audit and clinical research projects.
