GI Inpatient advert

University College London Hospital are about to embark on opening new services by December 2020.  UCLH is one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK, providing first class specialist services.  We pride ourselves in strong multidisciplinary team working, supporting nursing career pathways and further professional development opportunities.

We are looking for an experienced band 5 or band 6 to join our GI inpatient nursing team.

Our Gastro-Intestinal inpatient services are located across T7 and T9 floors, delivering care to both medical and surgical GI patients.

Current GI services cover, Colorectal, Upper GI, Bariatric and Vascular surgeries, HPB Medicine, Nutrition/ Intestinal failure.

We are looking for candidates who should be able to:

  • Provide compassionate, competent care for a case load of patients and take charge of the ward on a day to day basis
  • Support the Ward Sister/ Charge Nurse and deputy in demonstrating effective leadership
  • A commitment to teaching/ mentorship
  • Use excellent communication skills to benefit patients and the MDT
  • Demonstrate UCLH Trust values through leadership, MDT working with colleagues, patients and their families.
