12 month secondment opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Research Nurse or Clinical Trial Practitioner for a 12 month secondment opportunity.

This dynamic role provides an excellent mix of direct patient care, research involvement and managerial responsibility. Most importantly, it provides important support to cancer-haematology patients during their treatment trajectories.

You will manage your own portfolio of patients undergoing acute Haematology Clinical Trials specialising in Myeloma in the first instance.

Working alongside a supportive team of Haematology research nurses, clinical trial practitioners, data managers, and consultants, you will manage your caseload working autonomously and as a team player; co-ordinating and monitoring the care of patients on a number of studies, including important clinical trials with a national profile. The post holder will work with the clinical teams to ensure the continued care and support for patients involved in clinical trials and attend multi-disciplinary team meetings and clinics.

Underpinning this clinical research support of patients, the role holder is responsible for ensuring the regulatory aspects of clinical trials are maintained to GCP standards so a good understanding of the research process is expected.

In addition the role involves overseeing the portfolio of trials.  You will manage a team of research nurses, trial practitioners and data managers. You will have peer support from the other team leaders in haematology as well as managerial support from the Haematology Research managers.

In return, we are seeking candidates with a strong cancer nursing or clinical trials background with substantial Haematology experience as well as some experience of managing junior staff.
