We are seeking highly motivated energetic, enthusiastic and experienced Band 5 nurses to join our Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) team at UCLH.

We are one of eight specialist centres in London which delivers world class stroke Hyper acute services operating an 18 bedded unit and overseeing the treatment of approximately 2500 people a year. All patients are managed in the acute phase of their stroke and remain with us for 48-72hours and then are repatriated to their local stroke unit for rehabilitation care.

A Nurse led service at the cutting edge of nursing developments, supported by a team of nurses fundamental to proving great care and a nursing educational team. Not only does this provide our ward nurses with opportunities to develop quickly, it gives them the time to care properly for patients. Our nursing ward ratios are on average 1 nurse to 4 patients.

Whilst on HASU patients receive specialist care for acute stroke including; rapid access to emergency pathways such as Critical care and Endovascular transfers. The unit works closely with Emergency Department for rapid patient assessments.
