An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, independent, flexible and committed nurse to join our multidisciplinary team.
This is an exciting opportunity to specialise in a patient focused, technically advanced field; where the multidisciplinary team encourage role extension and offer many opportunities for career development. Imaging nursing is a specialised area of nursing

The successful applicant will be expected to deliver safe, high quality nursing care within the department. The role will involve preparation of patients prior to procedures and in the provision of nursing care peri and post procedure.

Once fully trained, following completion of our in-house preceptorship training programme, you are expected to participate with the on-call service
You will also be expected to deliver conscious sedation to patients for some procedures following a stringent training programme
The role includes scrub, circulating and care in the recovery of second stage patients.
No experience is necessary as full training and support will be given in this specialised innovative role.

Interventional Radiology delivers less invasive treatments to patients who in the past may have undergone complex surgical procedures.
You will receive specialised training in the use of catheters, wires, stents and other equipment specific to Interventional radiology.
Some of the skills are transferable to other areas for example Theatres, and Cardiac Catheter labs, allowing flexible career progression.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
