UCLH has two major strategic projects underway. On Grafton Way, we are building a facility which will be home to one of only two high energy NHS proton beam therapy centres, Europe’s largest centre for the treatment of blood disorders and a hyper modern surgery service.  Close by on Huntley Street we are developing the new Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. Replacing the current hospitals on Grays’ Inn Road, this development will mean we can provide multidisciplinary care to our dental and ENT patients in a modern environment. Our Grafton Way facility is due to open in 2020, with Huntley Street opening in 2019.

University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a part-time Consultant in Neurology with a special interest in neurological Sleep disorders with a commitment to high quality patient care, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, and excellence in education/training. This is a new post created as part of the expansion of the neurological sleep services within the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) to meet the increased demand for the service.

Applications are invited for a consultant appointment in sleep neurology. The post is offered on a 5 session basis and provides an opportunity to join a dynamic, expanding department and to contribute to the multidisciplinary care of patients with neurological sleep disorders.

The post holder will be expected to provide expertise in neurological sleep disorders, including assessment and treatment of disorders such as central hypersomnolence and parasomnias as well as ability to report overnight polysomnography studies. The post-holder will be part of a multidisciplinary team including neurology and clinical neurophysiology at the NHNN. The post-holder will be expected to develop close links with all members of the team as well as other sleep physicians across the trust.

The appointee will be expected to participate in all activities of the Department including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical audit and research. They will be required to undertake clinical management duties and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and to demonstrate clinical leadership.
