Complex Spinal Fellowship in Neuro-Orthopaedics

The post involves surgery at, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore (RNOH) UCLH (NHNN) and Wellington Hospital, under the guidance of Mr Adrian Casey and Mr Kia Rezajooi.  Collaboration with orthopaedics and neurosurgeons is encouraged at all three sites. Research/audit projects including presentations at national meetings and publication in peer review journals are essential.  Previous post-holders have obtained recognition from the SAC.

There are regular spinal MDT meetings across both sites. Tuesday NHNN (combined spine MDT); Wednesday RNOH (neuro-orthopaedic MDT); Friday NHNN (spine tumour).  Once a month there is a multi-centre complex spine clinic. The Fellow would be responsible for coordinating the Tuesday spine meeting and once monthly Complex Spine Clinic. Surgery is performed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday all day. Outpatient clinics are on Monday and Friday Opportunities for courses (hands-on) are available and encouraged.
