At UCLH (University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) our success starts with you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.

Based in the busy West End of London, we have a lively and vibrant working atmosphere, with quick and easy transport links to all our sites. Our size and resources enable us to offer a range of attractive benefits as well as unparalleled education and development opportunities for staff at all levels. This includes an extensive portfolio of academic and clinical courses and programmes ranging from ongoing personal development through to clinical excellence and leadership skills. UCLH prides itself on its investment in staff both in terms of developing career skills but also its commitment to staff health and wellbeing.

The Eastman Dental Hospital is seeking to appoint to Consultant positions within the Restorative department, across the mono-speciality of Periodontology. We invite applications from Restorative Dentists with a special interest or Dentists qualified in the above mono-speciality or to join our large, multi-professional team. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care, delivery of innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, and excellence in education/training.

There are Consultant positions in the Division of Restorative Dentistry based in the Department of Periodontology, which has arisen due to internal staff review and reorganisation.  The post holders will be expected to show drive and initiative towards patient care putting the patient first in line with the Trust core values, and to have a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field of Restorative Dentistry, including the provision of implant treatment.  The post holders should have a specific interest and experience in undertaking a variety of procedures (simple and difficult) as well as managing complex challenges and multidisciplinary work.  They should demonstrate a high quality approach to patient management and will be expected to contribute to the departments’ educational and research activities. The ability to lead and work as a team member is an essential requirement for these posts. The post holders will be an integral part of the team and will be expected to participate in the management of referrals into the department. The successful candidates will work closely with the Clinical Leads and departmental consultants to ensure that the clinical effectiveness standards and administrative tasks are undertaken to maintain quality standards. Whilst based in a specific mono-speciality, the post holder, when necessary and appropriate, may be asked to assist in patient management in the wider department and lead quality improvement projects.

The successful candidates will be expected to have experience, personal engagement and enthusiasm for teaching and training, and will work closely with the Academic teams to ensure that patient care and journey through the training programmes is optimised. It is anticipated that they will participate in the research activities of the Department and the Division.

The post holders are expected to adopt the Trust values.  Flexibility and the ability to work as a team member is essential and  considerable importance is attached to maintaining awareness in the profession at large about the work of the Department.  The post holders will be expected to demonstrate leadership qualities and be able to lead teams as required to help achieve the Eastman’s Vision for education which focuses on putting patients at the core of education and research.  They will assist in the planning and remapping of service and education delivery in preparation for the Hospital move to a new site in September 2019.
