Band 6 Surgical Intensive Care
This is a unique opportunity for nurses with experience in Intensive Care and Neuroscience nursing to work as a band 6 on Surgical ITU.

You will have the opportunity to look after a broad range of patients following brain and spinal surgery and patients admitted via the stroke pathway. You will work as part of a supportive and caring nursing and multidisciplinary team, with the opportunity to further develop skills.

Post requirements:
Specialist course/pathway (60 credits at Level 3)

Experience in Intensive Care and Neurosciences nursing

Ability to manage the care of ventilated complex level 3 patients with minimal input and provide teaching and support to junior staff

NMC recognised mentorship qualification (Mentoring and Enabling Learning in the Practice Setting, ENB 998 or equivalent)

BSc or working towards

Able to coordinate ITU patient care in the absence of senior staff.
