University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a major Teaching Hospital and Research Centre with state of the art facilities. We currently have vacancies within the Theatres and Anaesthetics Division.

Our operating theatre is a busy and dynamic environment setting the benchmark for clinical excellence. We have a total of 19 operating rooms which cover different specialities ranging from General surgery, Trauma and orthopaedics, Bariatrics and upper GI surgery, Colorectal, Gynaecology, Urology, Oncology, Paediatrics, Maxilo Facial, ENT, Vascular and Plastic/ Breast surgery.

Working as a TheatrePractitioner you will be required to function effectively as a member of the peri-operative team to ensure the provision and development of an efficient and high quality surgical service, particularly in Trauma and Orthopaedics. You will need to deliver a holistic care package which is current, evidence based and effective. You will also have a broad knowledge and skill base including communication and team working skills, in order that you contribute to the smooth running of the theatre department.

We are committed to ongoing professional development and opportunities exist to undertake a wide range of in-house and university based training programme.

Opportunities are available to rotate in areas such as Main Theatres, Day Surgery Unit, Macmillan Cancer Centre, and EGA Obstetric Theatres.

The successful candidate will hold the appropriate qualifications to be a current registered practitioner (RGN or ODP) and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.
