On Grafton Way, we are building a facility which will be home to one of only two high energy NHS proton beam therapy centres, Europe’s largest centre for the treatment of blood disorders and a hyper modern surgery service.  Close by on Huntley Street we are developing the new Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. Replacing the current hospitals on Grays’ Inn Road, this development will mean we can provide multidisciplinary care to our dental and ENT patients in a modern environment. Our Grafton Way facility is due to open in 2020, with Huntley Street opening in 2019.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and focused individual to join the Thoracic Surgery Department.

The role is responsible for the careful management of the Thoracic Surgery pathways; you will undertake a key role in a busy and demanding service.  You will be responsible for both the elective and non-elective pathways.  Ensuring we deliver on a range of targets including theatre utilisation, RTT compliance and cancer wait times.  You will also be responsible for out-patient clinics both at UCLH and at outreach sites.

The ideal candidate will have a patient centred approach and experience of working within a busy NHS team, with values that are aligned with the Trust’s core values and should have strong typing skills (at least 40 wpm)

The position is based at UCH at Westmoreland Street Hospital and you will be supporting two Consultant Thoracic Surgeons with their administration and waiting lists. 

You will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a drive and energy to improve the patient experience.
