At UCLH (University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) our success starts with you.

We want you to come to UCLH, and stay at UCLH; all of our staff have been involved in developing our values.

We believe that UCLH is a better place for patients and staff alike. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.

UCLH has two major strategic projects underway. On Grafton Way, we are building a facility which will be home to one of only two high energy NHS proton beam therapy centres, Europe’s largest centre for the treatment of blood disorders and a hyper modern surgery service.  Close by on Huntley Street we are developing the new Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. Replacing the current hospitals on Grays’ Inn Road, this development will mean we can provide multidisciplinary care to our dental and ENT patients in a modern environment. Our Grafton Way facility is due to open in 2020, with Huntley Street opening in 2019.

NHS staff survey results from 2016, UCLH has been named one of the ten best performing non-specialist trusts against the following statement: “If a friend of relative needed treatment I would be happy with the standard of care provided by this organisation”.

The Macmillan cancer centre is a busy centre providing facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of cancer and non-cancer conditions alongside Macmillan support and information services for patients, their carer’s and families.

The outpatients department is one of the busiest areas of the hospital with multiple clinics running throughout the day. The volunteer role is about welcoming patients in to the department, making sure that they are checked in at the appropriate clinic and assisting them during waiting periods. It also involves gaining feedback from patients.

A minimum commitment of 1 morning or afternoon session per week is required.
