Band 5 Staff Nurse

We are looking for an individual with one years’ experience in nursing, who would like to work within this established close observation ward for antenatal and postnatal women, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You must be able to work flexibly, efficiently and enjoy creative problem solving and be keen to develop leadership skills in a challenging and dynamic environment.

The role will include performing observations and escalating where appropriate. Carefully managing fluid balance, and assessing Waterflow scores daily.  Training will be provided on neonatal resuscitation along with breastfeeding.  You will also attend the multi-disciplinary team mandatory skills and drills session covering obstetric emergencies.

You will also be expected to help with the running of the Caesarean section list, and organise and manage the Pre Assessment Clinic, with the full support of the close observation team, and midwife in charge.

The ward is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and therefore you must be able to work 12.5 hour shifts, either long days or night shifts.
